Our event is designed to be inclusive and inviting, offering workshops and parties with music that cater to all skill levels. So, whether you’re perfecting your triple steps or taking your first tentative ones, there’s a place for you here.

But Copenhagen Balboa Weekend is more than just a dance event; it’s a celebration of the swing dance community. It’s about making new friends, sharing laughter, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Our friendly and passionate international instructors are eager to help you hone your skills, and our cozy atmosphere ensures that you feel right at home. In addition to the ever-important evening parties with live music, CBW features two days of classes with legendary teachers and dancers to get inspired from:

Venue

Classses and Sunday tea-dance will be held at Serapions-Ordenen (Haveselskabetsvej 3B) hosting a cozy bar and lounge area – and not least: amazing floors!

Parties Friday and Saturday will be held at Literaturhaus (Møllegade 7) an amazing old church a few stops away with the new metro M3 lineWe are in the midst of Copenhagen with some of the best restaurants and cozy shopping areas all around us.

Classes and levels

Kindly read the level descriptions thoroughly before you register. This gives everybody the best chance for being at a suiting level.

The teachers/organizers may ask you to move up or down a level if they believe you have selected or been placed at a wrong level.

  1. Beginners/Intermediate: You have danced some balboa, but you are still getting your sea legs. You have completed Level 1 with Ministry of Balboa or Happy Feet Studio.

  2. Intermediate: You know the basics of Balboa and dance comfortably if the music is not too fast.

  3. Intermediate/Advanced: You are an experienced Balboa dancer. You can lead or follow many moves and variations, and you feel comfortable dancing at all tempos.

  4. Advanced: You are a very experienced Balboa dancer. You attend plenty of international workshops – you probably compete or teach classes and tasters on your local scene. You can lead or follow many moves and variations, switch roles, and you playfully dance at all tempos.

Prices

    • Participating at one level including party pass Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 1.300 DKK or 175,5 Euro
    • Participating at two levels including party pass Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 1.700 DKK or 229,5 Euro
    • Party pass for Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 500 DKK or 67,5 Euro
    • Party ticket for one night (at the door only): 212 DKK

We finally have found a new registration system we think are better, but it still does have a tiny flaw – for new registrants it doesn’t send email on initial registration, but if you can download a PDF from a link on the last page of the registration – then you are registered. For those who have prior registrations in this system you should expect to get an email.

Even if you first register as a single, but then find a partner, then you can just have them add your name and email to their registration, and we will accept both.

Terms & Conditions

Payments

  • Payment must be made within 3 days of receiving acceptance email and payment instructions to secure your registration. If we don’t receive your full payment in due time your reserved spot may be given to another person.
  • Please take care of all transfer costs and conversion cost if paying via bank transfer.
  • Unfortunately we cannot refund your purchased class pass for any reason, but you may transfer your class pass to someone else with the same dance role (leader or follower). If you do so, let us know by email to whom you sold your class pass so we can update the registration.

Liability

  • All participants are attending the event at their own risk
  • The Ministry of Balboa do not assume any liability or responsibility for incidents and/or injuries and loss or damage of any personal belongings during the classes or socials.
  • Classes with very few participants may be cancelled & refunded

Photos and video

  • You consent to having your photograph / video taken during the event and published.

Other information

  • It may take us a few days to get back to you, not least because we need to ensure balance between leaders and followers. But if you get nervous about your registration, or if you have questions, you are always welcome to reach out to us via e-mail at dans@balboaswing.dk
