In addition to the ever-important evening parties with live music, CBW features two days of classes with Solen le Bihan & Laurent Wallet + Annie Skoglund & Gašper Hrovat. Legendary teachers and dancers to get inspired from!
The evening parties will be held at Serapions-Ordenen (Haveselskabetsvej 3B). And also Saturday and Sunday classes and tea-dance will be held the same place – the floors are fantastic, the cozy bar and lounge is great, and we are in the midst of Copenhagen with great restaurants and cozy shopping areas all around us,
The Bands will be announced during the summer – and there will be live bands, both for the Friday and Saturday parties as well as for the Sunday tea-dance.
Rest assured, you will not be disapointed …!!!

Kindly read the level descriptions thoroughly before you register. This gives everybody the best chance for being at a suiting level. This year as something new we have four levels with the expected same amount of people now just spread out in order to make the levels more even.
There will be no auditions, but the teachers/organizers may ask you to move up or down a level if they believe you have selected or been placed at a wrong level.
Beginners/Intermediate: You have danced some balboa, but you are still getting your sea legs. You have completed Level 1 with Ministry of Balboa or Happy Feet Studio.

Sunday, 10:00-13:00 by Anni Skoglund & Gašper Hrovat.
Intermediate: You know the basics of Balboa and dance comfortably if the music is not too fast (corresponds to having completed Level 1 & 2 at Ministry of Balboa).
Saturday, 10:00-13:00 by Solen le Bihan & Laurent Wallet.
Sunday, 14:00-17:00 by Anni Skoglund & Gašper Hrovat.
Intermediate/Advanced: You are an experienced Balboa dancer. You can lead or follow many moves and variations, and you feel comfortable dancing at all tempos (corresponds to a solid Level 3 at Ministry of Balboa)

Sunday, 10:00-13:00 by Solen le Bihan & Laurent Wallet.
Advanced: You are a very experienced Balboa dancer. You attend plenty of international workshops – you probably compete or teach classes and tasters on your local scene. You can lead or follow many moves and variations, switch roles, and you playfully dance at all tempos (corresponds to Level 4 at Ministry of Balboa)

A helping note on levels: There is no 1:1 level from last year to this year. And be aware that we use a different level structure than HFS.
If last year you took the Inez (beginners) level, we suggest either Beginners/Intermediate or perhaps Intermediate if you really practiced since last year.
If last year you took Takier and felt to be among the least experienced dancers, we suggest the Intermediate level this year. If you felt to be among the most experienced dancers in Takier we suggest Intermediate/Advanced.
If last year you took the Desatoff level and felt to be among the most experienced dancers, we suggest you register for Advanced. If not feeling up to this, then we would suggest Intermediate/Advanced.
You may also book a private lesson with Anni & Gašper or Solen & Laurent during Sunday teadance 17:30-20:00 @Serapion also – please arrange directly with the teachers for this.

We are preparing the last details for the upcoming Copenhagen Balboa Weekend – still having a few spots in classes for couples or leads left... hurry if you want to participate – or come join us at the parties and buy your ticket in the door.
This will surely be some unforgettable days and evenings!
We kick off the Copenhagen Balbo Weekend with a Friday party in a cozy setting at the House of the Serapion Order, starting at 19:15 and with live music by Siberian Hotheads from 19:45.
Saturday night from 19.00 we will throw the main party at the House of the Serapion Order – with live music by Jeppe Zacho and four of his friends from Jack Street followed by DJ’ing by Gašper Hrovat who might indeed set the floor on fire!
There will also be slow-bal music played in the bar and lounge area to enjoy some relaxing moments.
On Sunday evening, persistent rumors suggest that there will be an open-to-all afterparty at a local speakeasy called Social Brew from around 17’isch.
In addition to the ever-important parties with live balboa music, CBW features two days of inspiring classes for experienced dancers with renowned international teachers Anna-Maria and Ralf Bernhard. Additionally, we offer a one-day workshop for slightly less experienced dancers. It will be taught by no other than the great Gašper Hrovat and local virtuoso Kasia Ceesay Hansen!
Should you be interested in a private lesson during Sunday, do reach out to Gašper on messenger and hear more and if you are up for private lessons with Ralf & Anna-Maria during Monday daytime or evening or Tuesday daytime – do reach out here. Private lessons are typically around 60€/hour with one teacher and 100€/hour with two teachers. But, be fast, they are usually in high demand!

Friday May 20th to Sunday May 22nd
The Balboa scene in Copenhagen is off to a flying start after Denmark taking the lead in opening society up. Classes are filling up – our social evenings full to the brim and spirits are high – spring is clearly in the air!
On May 20-22, the Copenhagen Balboa Weekend spring ’22 (CBW) will take place
We will kick it off with a party in the early evening hours Friday from 19:00 with live Balboa music in a cosy setting from 20:00. Saturday night we will have the great party with live Balboa music and both parties in Kulturhuset Indre By. Sunday evening, rumors are that a nearby afterparty at a well known speakeasy is being organised.

All lessons and the Friday & Saturday evening party will be held at Salen in Kulturhuset Indre By and we will confirm the live bands soon – stay tuned! This will surely be an unforgettable evening!
